I am Aarnav Aggarwal. I live in New Delhi, India and work at Ujjbhav. I am interested in redefining Indian Agriculture with information highways.
Born in India, an agrarian country with around 70% of its people depending directly or indirectly upon agriculture and farmer suicides accounting for 11.2% of all suicides in India, I have long since grappled with how to eradicate farmer suicides from the country and improve farmer lives. UjjBhav is a social initiative that I began in 2015 with the aim of fighting farmer suicides in Vidarbha District of Maharashtra, the epicentre of the problem. In UjjBhav’s mentorship program and peer to peer community, deprived farmers are connected with successful farmers and professionals in agriculture field to foster information sharing and community support. In this way, farmers are given support and access to free information to make optimal use of resources at hand.
As agriculture is the primary economic sector and produces the most basic of human needs, I am committed to reinvent and address the core challenges in the sector through technology. I have been a part numerous organisations that strive toward achieving the same goal through providing ladder to farmers to rise.
I am deeply committed to voice these issues, create awareness and share ideas to initiate change in the Indian agrarian society.
I love working collaboratively. If you have a great idea, hit me up !
